Packing

Poor packing is the most common cause of breakage and loss during a move. Transporting fragile and delicate items involves much more than placing them into boxes. While some items like bedding, towels and books don't necessarily call for professional attention, other items demand the kind of protection only experienced, professional packers can provide.

Atlas has packed the personal possessions of thousands of families. This experience has shown us which materials and packing methods provide the most reliable protection. We use only clean cartons of various sizes to custom pack your belongings. For those items that need extra attention, we can construct special wooden crates.

Delicate glassware is carefully wrapped and gently placed into a special container for optimum protection.

Professional Packing Methods are the Best Ways to Protect your Belongings

Individually wrapped chinaware and stemware is placed into a specially designed container. Valuable antiques, chandeliers, marble tops and other delicate items may require custom wooden crates. Atlas builds each crate to fit the item perfectly and also surrounds the article inside the crate with protective padding.

Each piece of silverware is protected by scratchproof, tarnish-resistant tissue and double wrapped before packing for individual protection.

Aerosols can't be packed because they might leak in transit, or even explode. Other nonshippables include caustic drain cleaners and flammable liquids like gasoline, charcoal starter, paint thinner and propane tanks.

We handle lampshades only by their wire framing, place them in tissue-lined cartons for added cushioning, and seal the cartons. Ceramic lamps require careful packing, or even crating.

Dustproof, reinforced wardrobe cartons keep clothing and draperies neat and clean, so they're ready to use right away when you arrive at your new home.

Reinforced, telescoping cartons offer maximum protection for mirrors and glass-front pictures. Mirrors and glass-front pictures are taped, then wrapped with soft, non-scratching paper and sealed in special corrugated cartons.

Custom-built wooden crates and protective packing safeguard antique tables, marble table tops, crystal chandeliers, fragile vases and other priceless possessions.

Mattresses are kept clean and fresh in protective cartons.

Can Atlas Move Jewelry ?

We recommend that you carry irreplaceable or expensive items with you. Jewelry, legal documents, stamp or coin collections, etc., can also be transported by bank couriers should you not want to carry them with you.
